Patricia Porekuu is a competent and versatile Development Practitioner, educated to MPhil level in Development Studies with over 10 years progressive experience in Health and WASH programme management. She possesses practical experience in administration of large, complex funding/grants and is endowed with a wealth of knowledge of the health and water sectors in Ghana. She has worked with partners to advocate for improved health outcomes by lobbying the Ministry of Health (MOH), Ghana Health Service (GHS), development partners, Parliament, and various coalitions to review and identify gaps to be addressed in the health sector’s Medium Term Development plans and annual programme of work.
Ms. Porekuu has developed strong partnerships with Ministries, district assemblies at all levels, non-governmental organisations, civil society organisations, the private sector, training institutions, academia and communities and has maintained these strategic relationships over time. Managerial experience include employing organisational development to build peak performing teams and creating innovative ideas in promoting procedures, systems and practices that support organisational development. Key accomplishments include the implementation of the Bill & Melinda Gates funded Care Community Hub project, Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (GAVI) Health Systems Strengthening projects, the EU-funded Millennium Accelerated Framework (MAF) project through STAR Ghana, the Dutch Government funded Sexual Reproductive Health project, the Ghana AIDS Commission’s National Strategic Plan 2011-2015, development of a Water Programme for Ghana by the Dutch Government and budget tracking. Ms. Porekuu is endowed with good leadership and proven interpersonal relation skills and works independently and effectively with diversified multicultural teams.
